England's been so HOT the past few weeks.
And I mean Malaysian standards, kinda hot.
Everyday I wake up feeling like I'm in a microwave.
Everyone here asks me how do I survive back home. WELL, for starters, Malaysia's very humid. Your skin will not get dry and you'll hardly feel thirsty. Hot and sweaty, yes. Not thirsty. Secondly, we drive everywhere and everything is done indoors so we've very limited exposure to direct sunlight. Thirdly, all buildings especially homes, are equipped with fans OR air-conditioning. Our buildings are built so that heat is released instead of being trapped.
When I first came to England, 3 years ago, I craved heat and sun so much. You wouldn't believe it! I hated the cold and grey skies but somehow, that all changed 2 years down the road and I learnt to actually like freezing cold temperatures. And I mean it, I quite like having to wear thick coats and warm boots.
The current heat wave in England is just ridiculous. I wake up everyday in such a foul mood! It doesn't help that I've to fast since it's Ramadan. :( To my Malaysian peeps, we have to fast 18 hours over here. EIGHTEEN! And we only get 6 hours to eat until we've to start fasting again. Wahhh!
Banyak cabaran bila duduk kat luar negara.
