I suppose I'm obliged to review 2013 and talk about my New Year's resolutions?
Haha. This might take a while but I'll gladly do it.
Here are my major highlights of 2013.
Turning 21 made me realise that if I want to face the challenges of adulthood, I've to not only be mentally prepared but physically as well. Thanks to yoga and running, I've a newfound appreciation for my body.
Joining Pandu Puteri has pushed me to take up challenges that I'd usually turn down in a heartbeat. Never would I thought I'd pluck up the courage to voluntarily do public speaking. It's also made me realise how much I enjoy being a big sister to those younger than me.
Girl guiding is wonderful because for once it doesn't give me much room for complaining but instead I'm pushed to improve myself and help others. Girl Guide's motto is: 'Be Prepared' and I can't think of a motto more suitable for life!
Notice how I wrote 'maKe peace with myself' instead of 'maDe'?? As much as I feel good about myself, I understanding that making peace with one's self is an ongoing process; one which needs renewing from time to time. I may be A-ok now but who knows, a few months down the line I might face challenges that will bring my self esteem down again.
My 2014 resolutions are few and simple:
I think my resolutions speak for itself. I'm looking forward to the challenges that 2014 has installed for me. I know it's not going to be a perfect year but I'll hopefully be prepared.
WISHING EVERYONE A PROSPEROUS YEAR AHEAD!
